Steps
1
Creating Custom Bots
2
Building custom bots in BoodleBox empowers you to create specialized AI assistants tailored to your specific needs.
Whether you're developing a teaching assistant, a research companion, or a specialized task helper, BoodleBox's bot builder provides a flexible and intuitive platform to bring your vision to life.
3
To build a custom bot, select the toolbox icon in the top navigation bar.
We have seen professors create tutor bots, assessment bots, support bots, and more!
4
Click '+ Build Bot' to get started.
As you begin to develop custom bots, they will automatically save to this window.
5
After naming your bot and adding a description, click 'Continue.'
6
Next, it's time to configure your custom bot.
By defining expertise, learning objectives, and workflow, you'll create a bot that can effectively engage with users and achieve specific learning or task-oriented goals.
7
Bot expertise and role establishes your bot's identity by defining its specialization, primary function, and target audience.
8
Learning objectives outline what users should be able to do or understand after interacting with the bot.
9
Bot workflow defines the step-by-step process the bot will follow when interacting with users.
10
After completing the bot instructions, it's time to move on to settings and knowledge.
11
Under settings, you can manage bot details like name, description, and greeting message.
12
Under knowledge, you can add relevant documents to give your bot context-specific expertise.
Your bot can reference uploaded materials to provide more accurate, relevant, and personalized responses.
13
Select ‘Add Knowledge’ to open the file upload dialog box.
14
Click to choose files from your computer or simply drag and drop relevant documents.
15
Once files are compiled, click upload to add to your bot's knowledge base
16
You can manage, delete, and update files directly in your custom bot's knowledge base at any time.
17
Next, choose the AI model that will serve as the foundation for your bot's capabilities using the 'Powered by' dropdown menu.
18
Finally, it's time to make sure your custom bot is configured properly.
Head to the chat window and click 'Test Bot.'
19
The chat bar will unlock, allowing you to run a test conversation with your custom bot.
Confirm the bot responds according to its defined role and expertise. If responses aren't as expected, review and adjust the configurations
20
Once everything is operating as expected, click 'Publish' to make your custom bot public.
21
A confirmation window will open, allowing you to share the link to your custom bot.
22
Regular monitoring and refinement of your bot's performance will help ensure it continues to provide value to its users.
You can make adjustments and update documents as needed - just be sure to publish all changes!
