Steps

1
Welcome to Loyalife- Rules(2.2)!
2
Select Rule Engine
3
Click on "Add new rule".
4
The rule engine operates on a straightforward premise: if specific conditions are met, then take a defined action - and all the attributes we configured earlier can be utilized within these conditional statements.
5
For our first example, let's create a rule where members earn five points for any transaction of fifty dollars or above by selecting "transaction amount greater than or equal to 50" as our condition, and "award 5 points" as our action.
6
After that, "Choose an attribute".
7
Click on "Transaction Amount".
8
Afterwards, click on ">=".
9
put the action value which is 50 in this rule
10
Click on "THEN". and put the number of points and choose the appropriate condition.
11
This rule will evaluate each incoming transaction, and when the condition is satisfied, the specified points will be issued to the member automatically. We'll save this condition and enable it to make it active within our rule structure, and now we can create additional rules with more complex conditions.
12
Afterwards, click on "Save".
13
Next up, click on "Save & Enable Now".
14
Click on "Add new rule".
15
For our second rule, let's target credit card transactions specifically, where we'll award points for transactions of one hundred dollars or above
16
After, click on "CRC".
17
AND "amount greater than or equal to 100."
18
Video step
19
This demonstrates how we can stack multiple conditions within a single rule to create more targeted earning opportunities based on specific transaction characteristics like product code, currency, MCC, mobile app usage, or any other attribute we've defined.
20
Once that's done, click on "Save".
21
Rule sequence
22
If the first rule's conditions aren't satisfied, the system moves to evaluate the second rule, continuing down the chain until either a matching rule is found or all rules have been evaluated without a match. it will keep on evaluating rules one by one in a sequence, hence it is important to set the sequence as per the program journey.
23
Click on "Add new rule".
24
this time creating a percentage-based reward where debit card transactions earn points based on a multiplier rather than a flat amount.
25
Once that's done, click on "DBC".
26
and instead of flat points, we'll select the multiplier option to award 0.05% of the transaction amount.
27
select the attribute basis which the rule will work
28
After, click on "Save".
29
After saving this rule, we can adjust its position in the evaluation order if needed.
30
After that, click on "Rule Preview".
31
Click on "Add transaction Record".
32
in the review section no actual points will be credited or debited. we will add and member against which the transaction record will be passed
33
For example, if we test a transaction with ID "1,2,3,4", a specific date,
34
an amount of $100,
35
Click on "DBC".
36
Click on "DR".
37
Following that, click on "Run Preview".
38
showcasing the rule.
39
If we modify our test to a $30 transaction and run it again,
40
Click on "Run Preview".
41
point outcome
42
To finish off, click on "Continue".
