Steps
1
Step 1
2
Ensure you are on the billing tab.
3
Select the appropriate Billing Status from the drop-down menu. To send the claim to the clearinghouse and onto the payer, select Bill Insurance or Bill Secondary Insurance, whichever is applicable.
4
Select the Primary Insurance Payer.
5
Press the + sign to accept payment of a copay/deductible amount.
6
If there is a Pre-Authorization number for the service, enter it here.
7
If there is a referral number for the service, enter it here.
8
Select the correct payment profile for the appointment.
9
If you have Billing Pick Lists set up, you can select one here.
10
If the patient has established diagnostic codes (ICD-10), you can select from their list here.
11
Notate here whether the appointment is related to the patient's employment.
12
Notate here if the visit is related to an auto accident.
13
Notate here if the visit is related to a different type of accident (not employment or auto accident related).
14
Here you can note the Onset of Current Symptoms, Date of Accident, or the patient's last menstrual period.
15
Add the ICD-10/diagnosis code here. You can search by code or by condition.
16
Add any custom codes, if applicable, here. By design, custom codes do not appear on the insurance payer's bill. They will show under patient responsibility.
17
Add any CPT or HCPCS codes here.
18
If any medications are given, report their NDC codes here. This may pre-populate if it is built into your fee schedule.
19
If you need to include a note on the claim, select the check box to the left and add your message in the text box.
20
The Patient SuperBIll gives the patient an itemized statement of services rendered. If the patient is out-of-network, this superbill can be used by the patient to submit to insurance.
21
The Billing Details button will take you to the claim in the Live Claims Feed. (Billing > Live Claims Feed)
22
If you would like to print a HCFA-1500 form or access the NY Workers' Compensation forms, they are under Other Forms.
23
The HCFA (text) version should be used if you have preprinted red HCFA paper. The New York C4.3 and NF3 workers' comp forms will populate the information available. The forms can be filled in online prior to printing.
